A NOOSA Sound home built by the Sunshine Coast’s Ro-billiard Building and Design is the Queensland Master Builders house of the year.
It is the second year in a row the award has gone to the region.
The win topped off a string of award for the Sunshine Coast.
At the other end of the scale, a renovated house in the Noosa hinterland showed what could be achieved on a tight budget.
The project by JHC Homes won the award for the home renovation or remodelling up to $275,000.
The awards were presented at the Queensland Master Builders Housing and Construction Awards, held last night at Brisbane City Hall.
The house of the year was built over two allotments in Noosa Sound.
The home has a luxurious pool and tennis court. Inside features bespoke built-in-furniture, automated lighting, a steam shower, a high-output gas fireplace and solar electricity generation.
Technology is seamlessly integrated through the house, including the latest audio-visual equipment, high-output LED lighting, motorised curtains and bifolding doors.
The judging panel considered the home demonstrated exceptional attention to detail, innovation and creativity.
The Queensland Apprentice of the Year and Apprentice Employer of the Year awards went to Gympie, with Lachlan Kenman and his employer, Mark L. Buchanan, receiving the honours.
Master Builders Sunshine Coast regional manager, Michael Hopkins said local builders led the state again this year with a record number of winners.
“Sunshine Coast builders have won back-to-back house of the year awards showing that the top end of the new house market is still strong and leading the state in terms of quality, innovation and design,” Mr Hopkins said.
